Steve Rowley - Guitar
Steve started to play guitar at age 16 after going to his first concert (The Moody Blues). He started gigging professionally at 18 and eventually spent a couple of years touring the midwest with a rock band. Since moving to Florida, he has played over 600 gigs in a variety of genres (rock, classic rock, oldies, pop hits, funk, R & B, and yes, even disco and a bit of country). Steve joined SOLID BRASS in 2011.
Fred Moore - Vocals
"Funky" Fred started singing and playing bass guitar at a very young age in shows and nightclubs in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. Eventually concentrating only on being a vocalist, Fred went on to sing with many groups performing throughout Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Fred has performed with many groups all over south Florida including houseband "Soul Motion" at Pranzo's in Mizner Park and continued engagements with the Blue Martini nightclub circuit. Fred became the "voice" of SOLID BRASS in 2011.
Pete Sarfati - Sax
Pete was born in New York City in the late 60’s. That scene was the backdrop for his major influences in R & B and Jazz; Influences such as Earth Wind & Fire, Stevie Wonder, Spyro Gyra, and the Jazz Crusaders. Starting out with formal training on trumpet and later moving on to the saxophone, Pete longed to swing with the big names like Dexter Gordon, Grover Washington Jr. and Phil Woods. He’s gigged the range from Gospel to Broadway, and now returns with SOLID BRASS to the sounds of the city which were his first love in music.
Alex Wladimirsky - Trumpet
Alex currently plays lead trumpet for Florida Atlantic University's Marching Owls and was among the elite musicians in West Boca High's Vanguard Band. Alex resides in Boca Raton and he is the SOLID in SOLID BRASS.
Rich Powali - Trombone
Rich has been playing trombone for 10 years. He is a music educator who completed his degree at Florida Atlantic University. He has played in numerous ensembles including jazz, concert, and pep ensembles.
Tim Walker - Keyboards
Tim has been involved in music since the age of 8, when he started playing trombone. At age 15, he switched to keyboards. He played in numerous bands in the northeast before moving to Florida. He's been influenced by many. SOLID BRASS is the first band he's been involved with that has a real horn section, and he's enjoying it quite a bit.
Jim Gray - Drums
With almost 50 years of touring the nation, playing drums and singing professionally, Jim provides the back beat and heavy pulse that drives SOLID BRASS!
Max Farnbauch - Bass
Max started playing trombone at age 13, guitar at 15. He played in marching band, concert band and various rock bands in high school. Max attended the Palm Beach Junior College School of Music and Berklee College of Music. He has played with the PBJC Jazz band and the Palm Beach Community Orchestra. Since then, Max has played with various local rock and blues bands. He formed SOLID BRASS in 2011.
